Solo Date #1: French Pastries & Beach Mornings

Solo Dates: A Series

✨ Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone

Doing activities on your own can be hard…have you ever wanted to go somewhere or do something but could find anyone to go with or anyone to join? Did you just decide not to go because you didn’t have anyone to go with or join? This year we are breaking this stigma and conquering our fear of doing things alone! This is a series I like to call Solo Dates.

I have never been the type of person that was comfortable doing things by myself. If I ever wanted to go somewhere or do something, I felt like I had to go with someone. I am someone who enjoys her alone time but normally spend that time at home. However, a year ago I decided I needed to take this alone time on the road. This started as just going to the beach to watch sunrise or sunset. In this series, follow along with me and find your inspiration to take yourself on your own Solo Dates.

✨Beachin’ It

Starting off this solo date series we are keeping it simple… #1 French Pastries and Beach Mornings. On Sunday, my normal routine is to try to get to the beach in the morning for sunrise. I feel so much more relaxed and at peace going into my week when I spend my mornings here. Florida skies just make me happy…simple as that. The mix of blues, pinks, and orange that fills the sky in the morning at the beach is just so beautiful. It truly is medicine for the soul.

For this solo date, I decided I was going to do my normal Sunday routine but add something to it. I did some research on Saturday and decided I was going to go to Venice Beach and a little cafe that I have never been to called Croissant & Co. My morning spent at the beach had me journaling, looking for seashells, and a morning dip in the Gulf. After spending about 2 hours at the beach I decided to head to Croissant & Co. since it was about 3 minutes away located right in Downtown Venice.

✨The BEST Croissant Ever

Croissant & Co. could have the best croissant ever. From what I read they make all their pastries daily using imported French butter. I mean how could they not have the best croissants! I definitely did my research before hand and looked at all their pastry options online before I went because when I walked in I knew I was going to want one of everything….I’m not exaggerating.

When you walk in you are greeted by the most divine smell ever along with cases of tarts, croissants, mouse, meringues, and fresh bread. I decided to get their peach and pear croissant, chocolate croissant, and a box of assorted macaroons. The staff was super friendly and it wasn’t a super long wait but if you are planning on going…make sure you go early because I hear they sell out quick.

✨Park and Pastries

I decided to go to this little park a couple streets behind the Main Street in Downtown Venice, Ponce De Leon Park. I parked and carried my bag of goodies to a picnic table under a tree and enjoy my croissants. It was super relaxing to be alone and be able to clear my head. It was also great to be able to try new things!
